How are Drain Lines Installed?

When installing plumbing drain lines, the we will first determine the location of the main sewer line, which is the primary line that carries all of the waste water and sewage away from the building. From there, we will plan out the routing of the drain lines, taking into account factors such as the location of the fixtures (e.g., toilets, sinks, showers) and the overall layout of the building.

We will then begin installing the drain lines, which typically consist of PVC or ABS plastic piping. These types of pipes are lightweight, easy to work with, and resistant to corrosion. We will connect the drain lines to the main sewer line using a method called "wye fitting" and will also install clean-outs, which are access points for the drain lines that allow for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Once the installation is complete, we will conduct a series of tests to ensure that the drain lines are properly installed and functioning correctly. This may include doing a "smoke test" to check for leaks, or conducting a "pressure test" to check the overall integrity of the system.

Repairing plumbing drain lines can also be a complex process, as it often involves identifying the source of the problem and then making the appropriate repairs. Common issues that can arise with drain lines include clogs, leaks, and broken or corroded pipes. In many cases, the plumber will need to use specialized tools such as sewer snakes or hydro jetting equipment to clear clogs and to properly repair or replace damaged pipes.
